Another e-acquaintance has come to town for a visit. Craig is a long time mod on MTBR.com, and a regular on NSMB. He and his wife Ina ride all over the world, so I'm feeling somewhat honoured that they are gracing us with their presence.
Mr Moose didn't really share the sentiment. I guess we should keep our heads down today.
Barb hasn't seem McDougall yet, and Craig was interested in seeing some local XC stuff, so up we went again. Barb really likes climbing....
We had a little snow on the trail today.

One thing about this ride is that it's tough to get a picture that shows how cool this particular piece of singletrack really is. This shot for instance, no justice at all...
And now it's time for fun with HDR (that's High Dynamic Range) photoimagery.

Good times. And now back to the trail.

It was a little chilly up there today. Here's Barb enjoying the loss of bloodflow to her fingers.
Another couple of enhanced shots with a cool tree for some added flava.

Finally, the last climb.
As usual, there's a huge part of the descent missing. Here's one of the many lookouts on the way down. We're just having too much fun railing corners to take pics.
Doh!!! Barb rails one a little too hard and buys the farm. Someone won't be waxing her legs for a while....
PS. - Happy 69th Birthday, Dad

Will is also not afraid to pedal up, so we went for a spin up McDougall today.
Hey, what can I tell you? It's epic. A couple of hours up, a half-hour traverse, and an hour down. Su-wheeeeeeet!
Even an action shot for ya. Honestly, it's too much trouble to pull out the camera and ruin the flow on a ride like this. Besides, we had our own little private showing of NWD8 last night, and after watching Fabien Barel destroy some Euro singletrack, we were ablsolutely flying today.

Good old Wa. He's sent me another one.
Hi Will. How do you like that? A brand new stunt for you, courtesey of Dirty Dave Diddler.
A reasonably epic day of fall colours and great conditions.
Will really liked this move. Why do the Brits ride so well and just generally make themselves so easy to get along with. We may never know, but here's hoping this trend continues....
Our tenant Dan joined us for one last lap in the near dark. I'm including this shot as it represents the very first step-up/step-down combo for our Dan. If you're not impressed, keep in mind that it's his first one, it's dark, and oh yeah.....he lost one leg in a motorcycle accident only 2 years ago.

Got busy with some maintenance today. Dave built up a new hit near the top of Builders Only, but it had a bit of a savage landing. So much so that a few well meaning but misguided individuals felt the urge to install this shonky ramp.
My plan was to remove said ramp and make a nice tranny instead.
I was going to put that tranny about where the bottom of the ramp was, but after 20 or 30 riders in a row came wailing off the jump and landed aout three feet further out, I changed my plan. Hey, is that a Knolly?
Once I got that done, Harley and I randown to check out Dave's latest creation. It has no name, but in honour of a minor shitstorm I created over a comment about "sissy lines" it may be referenced as the "Sissy Smoker."
I've always called the easy way around the "sissy line" a few folks didn't get the joke over at PinkBike. Oh well, I actually did spend a reasonable amount of time making a decent way around for riders of the more earthbound persuasion.
Becasue not everyone is up to speed on gaps.

The last project was to lay a bunch of logs into this corner before the stepup combo.

To guinea pig it, some local punksters showed up to show us how.

It's not really big enough for a no footer, but he went for it anyway.
